Enough is Enough

Feinstein introduced an upgraded assault weapons ban. The proposal outlaws assault weapons and ammo mags that hold more than ten rounds.  She hopes this proposal will “dry up the supply of these weapons over time.” However the proposal has met extreme resistance from the NRA. The NRA claimed “trying to ban guns from law-abiding citizens for decades.” The organization is confident that Congress will shoot down the proposal.

This debate has been long coming. Most of America is split on the issue. Many feel they have a right to whatever weapons they want as is promised by the right to bear arms. However there are those who would more than willingly sacrifice this right for safer schools and communities. However should assault weapons be outlawed what is to stop the black market from getting them and giving them to the sickos who perform many of the unfortunate events that have made this such a heated debate ? What is to stop weapons smuggling from becoming the next bootlegging.

Court takes on Custody battle.

The U.S. Supreme Court will be taking a custody battle at some point. Matt and Melanie Capobianco legally adopted little Veronica in 2009. Veronica was given up by her birth mother shortly after her birth. Now however the biological father is seeking custody.  The father did not understand fully understand what he was signing when he did.  The issues is whether or not the birth father can gain custody after the non-Indiana mother allowed for adoption “outside the tribe.”

The Supreme Court must have chosen this case as the case received enough backing for the members to be heard. The Court usually decides whether or not something is back by the constitution. There are several things that must be determined by the court. However the only real question is whether or not the court will separate a child from the only family she has ever known.
